How does Telehealth work?

For phone/video-counseling sessions, I will send you a link for our secure and HIPAA compliant video session.

Stay Present

I expect that you are available at our scheduled time and are prepared, focused and engaged in the session.

Stay Private

I am calling you from a private location where I am the only person in the room.  You also need to be in a private location where you can speak openly without being overheard or interrupted by others to protect your own confidentiality.

What Happens If We Lose Connection?

If we lose our video connection during our session, I will contact you back immediately on the same platform.  Please also attempt to call me if I cannot reach you. If we are unable to reach each other due to technological issues, I will attempt to call you 2 more times.  If I cannot reach you, I will remain available to you during the entire course of our scheduled session.  Should you contact me back and there is time left in your session we will continue.

What Should I Know Before Our First Session?

How Do I Get Set-Up for a Session?

I use a HIPAA compliant online portal called ‘Simple Practice’.

Once you receive access to this portal you can fill out all of your information as well as link your credit card for easy payment.

Do You Take My Insurance?

At this time, I only offer my services on an out of network basis.

What Is Your Cancellation Policy?

Cancellations are allowed up to 24 hours prior to session in order not to be charged the full fee for the session.

How long do sessions last?

It’s normal to wonder what sessions  will look like, however, as with all things, it depends on you and the work you put in. When we meet for a session, it will be a solid 50 minutes of work together. I typically see my clients once a week, sometimes twice.

It is difficult to initially predict how many sessions will be needed. However, because I offer strength-based brief therapy, our work together typically lasts 3 months. We will collaboratively discuss from session to session what the next steps are and how often therapy sessions will occur.

Together, we can find a more helpful understanding of the past, and build a more meaningful future.
